1. INTRODUCTION

PACESC LLC, operating as Parent's Association for Christian Education in SC ("PACESC," "we," "our," or "us"), respects the privacy of individuals and families who use our website and educational services.

This Privacy Policy explains how PACESC collects, uses, maintains, protects, and discloses personal information obtained through our website, membership applications, homeschool accountability services, educational records and transcript services, communications, and other activities associated with our organization.

PACESC provides homeschool accountability services based on South Carolina law, along with educational guidance, resources, record-related services, and other support for homeschooling families. Individuals and families residing outside South Carolina may also use certain PACESC services, depending on their circumstances and the services available.

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors to our website, individuals who communicate with PACESC, current and former members, parents and legal guardians, and students whose information is maintained in connection with our services.

PACESC recognizes the importance of protecting personal information, particularly information concerning minor children. We handle personal information in accordance with the practices described in this policy and applicable legal requirements.

DISCLAIMER: Nothing we say or post is intended to be legal advice and is distributed for informational purposes only. It is not intended to be and does not constitute the giving of legal advice. For more information about the laws and regulations in your state, please contact your own attorney or visit HSLDA.org. All homeschoolers must comply with the homeschool laws and regulations in their resident state.

2. USER RIGHTS

PACESC respects the privacy of individuals and families whose personal information and educational records are maintained in connection with our services.

Individuals may contact PACESC to request:

  1. Access to Information: Confirmation of whether PACESC maintains personal information about them and access to that information, subject to applicable legal requirements and appropriate identity verification.

  2. Correction of Information: Correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information maintained by PACESC. Requests involving historical educational records may require supporting documentation to preserve the accuracy and integrity of those records.

  3. Copies of Educational Records: Parents or legal guardians may request available educational records for their minor children, subject to applicable law. Adult students may request their own educational records directly from PACESC and may authorize PACESC to provide those records to schools, colleges, employers, or other designated recipients.

  4. Deletion of Information: Individuals may request deletion of personal information maintained by PACESC. Such requests will be evaluated in consideration of applicable legal requirements, administrative responsibilities, and the continuing need to preserve accurate historical enrollment, compliance, and educational records. Certain information may be retained when appropriate and legally permissible.

  5. Communication Preferences: Individuals may unsubscribe from optional marketing communications or request changes to their communication preferences. PACESC may continue sending necessary administrative, membership, and service-related communications.

  6. Other Privacy Requests: Individuals may request additional information about how their personal information is collected, used, retained, or disclosed. PACESC will consider requests to restrict or object to certain uses of information, subject to applicable law and operational requirements.

PACESC may require reasonable verification of identity or authority before providing access to, modifying, deleting, or releasing personal information or educational records.

Requests will be reviewed in accordance with applicable law and PACESC's responsibilities as a homeschool accountability and educational services organization.

To submit a privacy-related request, please contact PACESC using the contact information provided in Section 17 of this Privacy Policy.

3. RETENTION

PACESC retains personal information, membership records, and educational records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide its services, maintain accurate historical records, fulfill administrative responsibilities, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

As a homeschool accountability and educational services organization, PACESC maintains historical records of student enrollment, accountability coverage, academic progress, and graduation. These records may include membership applications, annual compliance documentation, grade reports, transcripts, correspondence, and other information associated with a student's educational history.

Certain educational records may be retained for extended periods because former students, families, educational institutions, employers, or other authorized parties may require verification of enrollment, academic achievement, or graduation many years after a student's membership has ended.

PACESC does not currently maintain a fixed retention or destruction schedule for all categories of records. Historical membership and educational records have generally been preserved, whether maintained electronically, in paper form, or both.

PACESC may periodically review its records and remove information that is outdated, unnecessary, duplicative, or no longer required for legitimate educational, administrative, or legal purposes, subject to applicable law.

Requests for deletion of personal information will be evaluated in accordance with Section 2 of this Privacy Policy. PACESC may retain certain information when necessary and legally permissible to preserve historical educational records, fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain accurate administrative documentation.

If PACESC discontinues operations or transfers responsibility for maintaining educational records, reasonable efforts will be made to address the preservation, protection, or appropriate disposition of those records in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

4. GROUNDS FOR DATA COLLECTION

PACESC collects and processes personal information as reasonably necessary to operate its website, administer memberships, provide homeschool accountability and educational services, maintain student and membership records, communicate with families, and fulfill applicable legal and administrative responsibilities.

Personal information may be collected and used for the following purposes:

  1. Membership Administration: Processing applications, verifying eligibility for services, maintaining membership information, and administering membership agreements.

  2. Educational Services: Registering students, documenting homeschool accountability coverage, maintaining educational records, preparing transcripts and other official documents, and providing educational guidance and support.

  3. Communications: Responding to inquiries, providing membership information, sending administrative notices, and communicating about PACESC services and resources.

  4. Legal and Administrative Responsibilities: Maintaining records, responding to appropriate requests for educational information or verification, complying with applicable legal requirements, and protecting the legitimate interests of PACESC and the families it serves.

  5. Website Operations: Operating and maintaining the website, providing access to online resources, processing transactions, and supporting website functionality and security.

  6. Optional Communications and Marketing: Providing newsletters, educational resources, announcements, and promotional communications in accordance with applicable requirements and individual communication preferences.

Information concerning minor children is generally provided by their parents or legal guardians in connection with PACESC membership and educational services.

Where consent or specific authorization is required by applicable law, PACESC will seek such consent or authorization as appropriate. Other information may be processed as necessary to provide requested services or fulfill applicable responsibilities, where legally permissible.

Additional information about the categories of personal information collected and how that information is used or disclosed is provided in the following sections of this Privacy Policy.

5. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

PACESC collects and maintains information necessary to operate its website, administer memberships, provide homeschool accountability and educational services, maintain student records, communicate with families, and fulfill its administrative responsibilities.

Information may be collected directly from individuals, through our website and membership applications, from educational institutions and government agencies, or through third-party service providers.

The information collected generally falls into the following categories.

5.1 Website Usage and Technical Information

When individuals visit or interact with the PACESC website, certain technical and usage information may be collected automatically through Wix, our website hosting and management platform.

This information may include:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and device identifiers.

  • Browser type, operating system, and device information.

  • Website pages visited, navigation activity, and interactions with website features.

  • Dates and times of website visits.

  • General geographic information derived from technical data.

  • Cookies and similar technologies used to support website functionality, security, and analytics.

PACESC uses Wix's built-in website tools and analytics capabilities to support website operations, monitor website activity, and improve the functionality and effectiveness of its services.

Although some technical information may be collected in an aggregated or non-identifiable form, certain information, including IP addresses and device identifiers, may be considered personal information under applicable privacy laws.

PACESC has not identified any separately connected Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or other advertising-tracking integrations through its current Wix website settings.

Additional information about cookies and related technologies is provided in Section 8 of this Privacy Policy.

5.2 Personal Information

PACESC collects and maintains personal information provided by parents, legal guardians, students, members, former members, website visitors, and other individuals who communicate with or use PACESC's services.

Depending on the services requested and the circumstances involved, this information may include the following categories.

  • Mailing and physical addresses.

  • Email addresses and telephone numbers.

  • Relationships to enrolled students.

  • Membership applications, enrollment dates, membership status, and renewal history.

  • Information concerning changes in household circumstances, guardianship, or student enrollment.

  • Other information provided in connection with membership applications or administrative communications.

B. Student Enrollment and Educational Information

PACESC collects and maintains information about students registered for homeschool accountability and related educational services.

This information may include:

  • Student names and dates of birth.

  • Residential addresses and identifying enrollment information.

  • Grade levels and school-year enrollment history.

  • Dates of enrollment, withdrawal, and graduation.

  • Academic grades, progress reports, and transcripts.

  • Educational records received from previous schools.

  • Records and official documents prepared or issued by PACESC.

  • Correspondence and other documentation relevant to a student's educational history.

PACESC maintains historical membership and educational records to support its accountability responsibilities and provide educational verification and transcript services, including services requested by former students.

C. Legal, Guardianship, and Family-Related Documentation

PACESC may receive and maintain legal or administrative documents relevant to a student's identity, enrollment, guardianship, or educational circumstances.

Such documents may include adoption records, legal name-change documentation, custody or guardianship orders, and correspondence from governmental agencies, including the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS).

These documents may be provided by parents or legal guardians, received from previous educational institutions, or supplied by appropriate agencies.

PACESC does not routinely require all such documentation from every family but may maintain it when received in connection with its educational and administrative services.

D. Government-Issued Identification Information

PACESC does not routinely request or collect Social Security numbers from students, parents, or legal guardians as part of its membership application or enrollment process.

However, Social Security numbers may be included in educational records received from previous schools or in documentation voluntarily submitted by families for specific administrative purposes, including verification of school attendance or cessation of attendance for Social Security Administration benefits.

Such information is handled in connection with the purpose for which it was received.

E. Payment and Transaction Information

PACESC accepts payments for memberships and other services through Wix and supported payment-processing services, including Square and PayPal. Available payment methods may include major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, and other supported payment options.

Payment credentials are processed by the applicable payment providers.

PACESC receives and maintains transaction details, including payment amounts, dates, payment status, and transaction identifiers, for membership administration, financial recordkeeping, and related business purposes.

PACESC does not directly collect or store complete credit card numbers or banking credentials submitted through these payment-processing services.

F. Website Forms and Voluntarily Submitted Information

PACESC collects email addresses through website forms used for inquiries, educational resources, event registrations, and other services.

Individuals completing these forms may also provide additional information, including names, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, student information, or other personal details.

PACESC may retain and use this information to respond to inquiries, provide requested resources or services, and communicate with individuals in connection with the purpose of their submission.

Submission of a website form does not automatically result in subscription to PACESC's Mailchimp mailing list.

G. Member Email Communications

PACESC maintains an email mailing list through Mailchimp for communicating with current members and maintaining historical contact information for former members.

Following membership acceptance, PACESC manually adds the member's primary email address to its mailing list. Members are informed of this practice in their membership welcome communications.

Mailchimp is used to distribute newsletters, educational resources, announcements, and other communications related to PACESC's services. Each mailing-list email includes an option to unsubscribe from future communications.

Former member contact information may be retained in archived mailing-list records.

PACESC may continue sending necessary membership, administrative, and service-related communications separately from optional mailing-list communications.

H. Correspondence and Administrative Communications

PACESC may maintain records of communications with parents, legal guardians, students, former students, educational institutions, government agencies, and other individuals or organizations in connection with its services.

These records may include emails, letters, submitted documents, service requests, educational-record inquiries, and other correspondence relevant to membership administration, student records, or educational services.

Such information may be retained as part of PACESC's historical membership and student files or administrative records.

5.3 Information Concerning Minor Children

PACESC's homeschool accountability and educational services necessarily involve the collection and maintenance of personal information concerning minor children.

Student information is generally provided by a parent or legal guardian in connection with membership applications and educational services. Additional information may be received from previous schools, educational institutions, government agencies, or other appropriate sources.

PACESC recognizes the sensitive nature of information concerning minors and uses such information in connection with its educational, membership, administrative, and recordkeeping responsibilities.

Information concerning minor children may be retained as part of their educational history, including after they reach adulthood, as described in Section 3 of this Privacy Policy.

Access to and disclosure of student information are addressed in Sections 2 and 7 of this Privacy Policy.

6. HOW DO WE RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?

PACESC receives personal information through various sources in connection with its website, membership administration, homeschool accountability services, educational records, and other activities.

These sources may include:

  1. Membership Applications and Renewals: Information provided by parents or legal guardians when applying for, renewing, or updating PACESC membership, including information about registered students and family circumstances.

  2. Website Forms and Online Activities: Information submitted through website registration, contact forms, event registrations, educational resource requests, and other online interactions. Certain technical and website usage information may also be collected automatically through our website platform.

  3. Direct Communications: Information provided through emails, telephone conversations, written correspondence, submitted documents, and other communications with PACESC.

  4. Educational Institutions: Student records, transcripts, academic reports, enrollment information, and other documentation received from public schools, private schools, homeschool programs, colleges, or other educational institutions.

  5. Government Agencies and Other Third Parties: Information or documentation received from government agencies, including the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS), or from other organizations and individuals in connection with enrollment verification, educational services, administrative matters, or official inquiries.

  6. Payment and Service Providers: Transaction information and other relevant administrative data received through Wix, payment-processing providers, and other service providers used in PACESC's operations.

  7. Website Hosting and Communication Platforms: Information generated or maintained through Wix, Mailchimp, and other platforms used to operate the website, administer memberships, provide services, and communicate with members.

Information may be received at the request of a parent, legal guardian, or student, or directly from an educational institution, government agency, or other third party in connection with PACESC's services and responsibilities.

PACESC may maintain information received from these sources as part of its membership, student, or administrative records, as described in Sections 3 and 5 of this Privacy Policy.

7. HOW IS THE INFORAMTION USED? WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE THE INFORMATION?

PACESC collects, maintains, and uses personal information to administer memberships, provide homeschool accountability and educational services, maintain student records, communicate with families, process payments, fulfill administrative responsibilities, and operate its website.

PACESC may use or disclose information in the following circumstances, subject to applicable legal requirements.

7.1 Membership Administration and Educational Services

PACESC uses personal information to review membership applications, maintain enrollment and coverage records, document compliance with applicable homeschool requirements, prepare educational records, respond to inquiries, and provide services requested by members, students, and former students.

7.2 Educational Records and School Transfers

PACESC may provide official educational records to public or private schools in connection with a student's enrollment or transfer. These disclosures are generally made in response to an official records request from the receiving school.

Depending on the student's educational level, available records, and the nature of the request, PACESC may provide an official student record, high school transcript, enrollment or coverage verification letter, notification that records are unavailable, or copies of educational records previously received from other schools.

PACESC does not ordinarily release complete membership or family files in response to school records requests. Internal documents, including membership applications, parent-submitted grade report forms, compliance documentation, and routine correspondence, are not included in standard educational-record transfers.

7.3 Transcripts and Educational Verification

PACESC may provide official transcripts, educational records, or enrollment and graduation verification to colleges, universities, educational institutions, or other recipients in connection with services requested by a student, former student, parent, or legal guardian, as appropriate.

Adult students may request their own educational records and direct PACESC to provide transcripts to designated recipients, subject to reasonable verification of identity and authority.

7.4 Military Recruitment and Security Clearance Requests

PACESC may provide official high school transcripts or educational verification to military recruiters, security clearance investigators, or other authorized representatives in connection with recruitment, enlistment, or background investigations.

These requests are generally accompanied by signed authorization from the student or former student. PACESC may verify the request and the individual's authorization before releasing educational records. Any disclosure without such authorization is subject to applicable legal requirements.

7.5 Employment and Graduation Verification

PACESC may respond to inquiries from employment verification services or prospective employers seeking confirmation of a former student's graduation.

These requests are commonly received by telephone and may include a case or reference number. PACESC generally limits its response to confirming whether the individual graduated and the graduation date. Academic transcripts, grades, and other detailed educational records are not ordinarily provided for employment verification purposes.

PACESC maintains an administrative record of these inquiries, which may include the date, requesting organization, telephone number, representative's name, case or reference number, and information disclosed. Signed authorization from the former student is not routinely received with these requests. Disclosures remain subject to applicable legal requirements.

7.6 Government Agency Inquiries

PACESC may respond to inquiries from government agencies, including the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS), in connection with a student's homeschool accountability coverage or other official matters.

Historically, PACESC's responses to DSS inquiries have generally been limited to written verification identifying the student, the parent or guardian associated with the membership, and the dates of active PACESC coverage. PACESC does not routinely provide academic grades, transcripts, or other detailed educational records in response to these inquiries.

When appropriate, PACESC generally attempts to communicate with the parent or legal guardian before responding to an agency inquiry. However, parental contact or authorization is not guaranteed in every circumstance, and PACESC may respond to lawful requests or applicable legal obligations without obtaining prior parental permission.

7.7 Statistical Reporting

PACESC provides statistical information to appropriate South Carolina authorities as required by applicable law. These reports contain aggregate statistical information rather than personally identifiable student or family records.

7.8 Special Education and IDEA Communications

PACESC may receive or distribute information concerning special education services, including informational opportunities provided by South Carolina school districts under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

PACESC does not provide membership lists, student contact information, or personally identifiable student records to school districts merely for the purpose of announcing or conducting these informational meetings. Any disclosure of student information for other purposes is considered separately under applicable legal requirements.

7.9 Website, Communications, and Payment Service Providers

PACESC uses third-party platforms and service providers to support its website, membership administration, communications, and payment processing. These may include Wix, Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Square, PayPal, and other payment or technology providers.

These providers may receive, store, or process information necessary to perform their respective services. Their handling of information is also governed by their applicable privacy policies and service terms.

PACESC does not routinely provide complete student or family files to outside administrative contractors.

7.10 Marketing and Membership Communications

PACESC uses contact information to send membership-related communications, service announcements, newsletters, educational resources, and other PACESC communications.

Marketing emails distributed through Mailchimp include an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing from optional marketing communications does not necessarily prevent PACESC from sending essential membership, administrative, or educational-record communications.

7.11 No Sale or Sharing of Contact Lists for Third-Party Marketing

PACESC does not sell, rent, exchange, or provide its membership email lists or student and family contact information to outside organizations for their own advertising, marketing, or solicitation purposes.

The use of service providers to administer PACESC operations or distribute PACESC communications does not constitute providing contact lists to those organizations for their independent marketing purposes.

7.12 Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights

PACESC may disclose information when required by applicable law, court order, subpoena, or other legally binding process, or when otherwise permitted by law and reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or legitimate interests of PACESC, its members, students, or others.

Any such disclosure will be considered in light of the nature of the request, the information involved, and applicable legal requirements.

8. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

PACESC's website is hosted and operated through Wix, which may use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, security, member access, and website analytics.

Cookies are small data files that websites may store on a visitor's device. They can help websites recognize returning visitors, maintain login sessions, remember certain preferences, and collect information about website usage.

8.1 Types of Cookies and Technologies

Depending on the website features and services being used, cookies and similar technologies may serve the following purposes:

  • Essential Website Functions: Supporting website security, navigation, member login sessions, and other functions necessary for the website to operate.

  • Website Performance and Analytics: Providing information about website visits, traffic patterns, and interactions to help PACESC understand and improve its website.

  • Website Features and Third-Party Services: Supporting functionality provided through Wix applications, embedded content, and other services used on the website.

Some cookies may be placed or managed by Wix or other service providers rather than directly by PACESC.

8.2 Managing Cookies

Visitors can generally manage, restrict, or delete cookies through their web browser settings. Most browsers provide options to block certain cookies or remove previously stored cookies.

Disabling cookies may affect website functionality, including member login sessions, access to restricted content, and other interactive features.

8.3 Website Analytics

PACESC uses website analytics available through its Wix platform to understand website activity and improve its online services.

PACESC has not separately configured Google Analytics or Meta Pixel tracking integrations on its website as of the date of this policy.

The information collected through website analytics may include technical information and usage data as described in Section 5.

8.4 Cookie Consent and Privacy Preferences

The availability of cookie consent controls and the requirements governing their use may depend on the website's configuration, the technologies involved, and applicable privacy laws.

PACESC may review or update its cookie management practices as its website services, technology, or legal obligations change.

For questions about cookies or the use of personal information on the PACESC website, visitors may contact PACESC using the information provided in Section 17 of this Privacy Policy.

9. FONTS AND WEBSITE DISPLAY TECHNOLOGIES

PACESC uses the fonts, design features, and website display technologies available through its Wix website platform to present website content consistently across different browsers and devices.

Wix may use font libraries, scripts, and related technologies to display website content. Depending on how these resources are delivered, a visitor's browser may communicate with Wix or other service providers and transmit technical information, such as an IP address or browser information, necessary to retrieve and display the content.

PACESC does not independently install Google Web Fonts or custom font-loading scripts as part of its regular website design practices.

Additional information about Wix's handling of personal information is available in the Wix Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and similar technologies is provided in Section 8 of this Privacy Policy.

10. THIRD-PARTY COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

PACESC's Privacy Policy describes how PACESC collects, uses, maintains, and discloses personal information in connection with its website, membership administration, educational services, and related activities.

PACESC uses third-party service providers, including website hosting, communication, and payment-processing platforms, to support its operations. These providers may collect, receive, store, or process personal information in connection with the services they provide to PACESC. Their handling of information is also subject to their applicable privacy policies, contractual obligations, and legal requirements, as discussed in Section 7.

The PACESC website may also contain links to independently operated websites, educational resources, or other third-party services. When visitors choose to access these external websites or provide information directly to them, the collection and use of that information are governed by the third party's own privacy practices.

PACESC does not own or control these independently operated websites and is not responsible for their separate privacy policies or information-handling practices.

We encourage visitors to review the privacy policies and terms of service of third-party websites and services before providing personal information.

11. HOW DO WE SAFEGUARD YOUR INFORMATION?

PACESC takes reasonable administrative, technical, and physical precautions to protect the personal information and educational records entrusted to its care against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

PACESC maintains electronic membership and student records through password-protected computer systems and cloud-based storage services. Additional security measures include two-factor authentication for principal administrative accounts and the use of a separate computer backup service to help protect electronic records against accidental loss.

Historical paper records are also maintained, and PACESC takes reasonable precautions to protect these records from unauthorized access.

PACESC uses established third-party technology providers for website operations, communications, data storage, payment processing, and backup services. These providers maintain their own security practices and policies.

Although PACESC takes reasonable steps to safeguard personal information, no electronic storage system, internet transmission, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure. PACESC cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, data loss, or other security incidents will never occur.

PACESC may review and update its information-security practices as technology, operational needs, and applicable legal requirements change.

12. ADVERTISEMENTS AND PROMOTIONAL CONTENT

PACESC does not participate in third-party advertising networks to display paid advertisements on its website and does not independently use advertising-network tracking technologies to deliver targeted advertisements to website visitors.

PACESC may provide information about its own membership services, educational resources, events, and other opportunities through its website and communications.

PACESC may also share information about educational materials, programs, or services offered by third parties. Some recommendations may include affiliate relationships through which PACESC may receive compensation if a purchase is made. PACESC discloses these affiliate relationships when applicable.

Any third-party websites accessed through these recommendations operate under their own privacy policies and information-handling practices, as described in Section 10.

PACESC does not sell or provide its membership email lists or student and family contact information to outside organizations for their independent advertising or marketing purposes, as described in Section 7.

13. MARKETING AND MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS

PACESC uses contact information, primarily names and email addresses, to communicate with members about their memberships, homeschool accountability requirements, educational resources, newsletters, events, programs, and other services.

Membership communications are an important part of the guidance, support, and administrative services PACESC provides. These communications may include enrollment and renewal information, compliance reminders, reporting deadlines, educational guidance, policy updates, and other notices relevant to membership.

PACESC uses email communication platforms, including Mailchimp, to distribute newsletters, educational information, membership announcements, and occasional promotional communications. These service providers process contact information on PACESC's behalf in connection with the services they provide.

PACESC does not conduct telephone marketing.

13.1 Newsletters and Promotional Communications

PACESC distributes newsletters, educational guidance, membership announcements, and occasional promotional information through its email communication services. These communications may contain a combination of educational, administrative, and promotional content.

PACESC may occasionally recommend educational materials, programs, or services offered by third parties. Some recommendations may involve affiliate relationships through which PACESC may receive compensation if a purchase is made. PACESC discloses applicable affiliate relationships as described in Section 12.

13.2 Email Preferences and Unsubscribing

Recipients may unsubscribe from PACESC's Mailchimp emails using the unsubscribe link included in those communications or by contacting PACESC directly.

When an individual unsubscribes, PACESC will respect that preference and discontinue sending marketing emails to that address in accordance with applicable requirements.

Because PACESC distributes newsletters and other information through the same Mailchimp audience, unsubscribing may prevent recipients from receiving future newsletters, educational resources, membership announcements, and other communications distributed through that platform.

An unsubscribed email address may remain in PACESC's communication platform or administrative records to preserve the unsubscribe preference, prevent unintended future marketing messages, and fulfill legitimate recordkeeping obligations.

13.3 Essential Membership and Administrative Communications

PACESC may continue to send communications necessary to administer memberships, maintain educational records, provide requested services, communicate compliance requirements, and fulfill legal or administrative responsibilities through separate communication channels, subject to applicable legal requirements.

These communications may include enrollment confirmations, renewal information, compliance reminders, reporting requirements, educational-record correspondence, and other important administrative notices.

Unsubscribing from Mailchimp communications does not necessarily prevent PACESC from sending these essential notices through other appropriate communication methods.

13.4 Protection of Contact Information

PACESC does not sell, rent, exchange, or provide membership email lists or student and family contact information to outside organizations for their independent advertising, marketing, or solicitation purposes, as described in Section 7.

14. BUSINESS CHANGES, CLOSURES, AND EDUCATIONAL RECORDS

In the event of a sale, merger, transfer of ownership, reorganization, or other significant change in PACESC's business operations, personal information and educational records maintained by PACESC may be transferred to a successor organization or other appropriate entity, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Any such transfer would be considered in light of the confidentiality of the information involved, the purposes for which the records were originally collected, and the responsibilities associated with maintaining student educational records.

PACESC recognizes the importance of preserving educational records that may be needed by students and former students for enrollment, graduation verification, employment, military service, or other legitimate purposes.

If PACESC permanently discontinues operations, reasonable efforts would be made to determine appropriate arrangements for safeguarding, transferring, or otherwise handling records in accordance with applicable legal requirements and the retention practices described in Section 3.

PACESC does not guarantee that all historical records will remain available indefinitely or that a successor organization will assume responsibility for maintaining them.

15. MINORS AND CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

PACESC recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy and personal information of children and minor students.

As a homeschool accountability association and educational services provider, PACESC collects and maintains personal information about minor students as necessary to administer memberships, document educational progress, maintain student records, and provide related services.

15.1 Information About Minor Students

Personal information about minor students is generally provided by their parents or legal guardians through membership applications, enrollment updates, educational reporting, and other communications.

PACESC may also receive student information and educational records from schools, government agencies, or other appropriate sources, as described in Sections 5 and 6 of this Privacy Policy.

Student educational records are maintained within the associated family's membership records, with individual student files organized as part of the family record.

15.2 Website Use and Parental Involvement

PACESC's website membership accounts and enrollment processes are intended for parents, legal guardians, and other adults responsible for administering a family's homeschool membership.

Minor students do not maintain individual PACESC website membership accounts or logins.

Minor students may access educational information or resources made available through PACESC, but membership enrollment and the submission of student information are generally handled by a parent or legal guardian.

PACESC does not intentionally solicit personal information directly from children for independent marketing purposes.

15.3 Information Submitted Without Authorization

If a parent or legal guardian believes that a minor has submitted personal information directly to PACESC without appropriate authorization, the parent or guardian may contact PACESC using the contact information provided in Section 17.

PACESC will review the circumstances and take appropriate action consistent with applicable legal requirements and its educational-record retention responsibilities.

15.4 Records of Students Who Reach Adulthood

PACESC may continue maintaining educational records after a student reaches adulthood, including records created while the student was a minor.

Adult students may request access to their own educational records or request that records be provided to designated recipients, subject to reasonable identity verification and applicable legal requirements.

Additional information about individual rights and records retention is provided in Sections 2 and 3 of this Privacy Policy.

16. UPDATES OR AMMENDMENTS TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

PACESC may periodically review, update, or revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in its services, administrative practices, website operations, technology, or applicable legal requirements.

When changes are made, PACESC will post the revised Privacy Policy on its website and update the "Last Updated" date to indicate when the policy was most recently revised.

If changes materially affect how PACESC collects, uses, maintains, or discloses personal information, PACESC may provide additional notice through its website, email communications, or other appropriate methods. Additional notice or consent will be obtained when required by applicable law.

Unless otherwise stated, revisions will take effect on the date indicated in the updated Privacy Policy.

We encourage visitors, members, and other individuals who use PACESC services to review this Privacy Policy periodically to remain informed about how personal information is handled.
